About us

Tartu Youth Choir was founded in 1983 by Riho Leppoja, who was the chief conductor until 2019. Markus Leppoja has conducted the choir since 2010 and became the chief conductor in 2019. Kadri Leppoja has conducted the choir since 1996. In 2001, Viviane Kallaste joined as a teacher of vocal culture. The choir has given concerts in various different countries, been to every Estonian Song Celebration and participated in an international competition almost every year.

  • Most important undertakings of the past few years have been Markus Leppoja author's concert, Raimo Kangro's "Missa süütult hukkunud eestlastele", Pop music concert "To a Fleeting Night" and successful performances at choir competitions in Greece and Slovakia.
